Working with farmers

How we source husks from farmers

Coconut husks are a by-product of the nut harvest. We buy them directly from farmers and farm groups across Tamil Nadu, so farmers earn from what would otherwise be burnt or left to rot.

1
Farmer networkWe buy from individual farmers and farm groups across the Tamil Nadu coconut belt, many of whom we have worked with for years.
2
After every harvestCoconuts are harvested every 45–60 days. We collect husks after each harvest, so supply is steady all year.
3
Collection at the farmOur trucks collect husks from the farm or a village collection point, so farmers don't carry the cost of transport.
4
Quality check on arrivalHusks are checked for maturity, dryness and foreign matter before they are accepted.
5
Fair, prompt paymentFarmers are paid by weight at agreed rates, promptly after collection.
6
Traced to the farmEach load is recorded by source, so every lot can be traced back to the farms it came from.
